Enjoy More Fruits and Veggies

You might already know that fruits and vegetables offer essential nutrients, can help prevent some chronic diseases, and are low in calories to help us maintain a healthy weight. With all these benefits, it’s no surprise that the USDA food guide pyramid recommends that fruits and vegetables make up a substantial part of your diet.

If you are not getting enough fruits and veggies, you should know that there are easy and fun ways to increase your fruit and vegetable consumption – for example you can let your child select a new fruit at the supermarket, try an exotic recipe for vegetable stir-fry, or take a family trip to the farmer’s market.

Make fruits and veggies a regular part of your meals and snacks and your body will thank you. See the resources below for more information, recipes, tips, and demonstrations. You’ll never want to pass by the produce aisle again!
